Born & raised in Youngstown, OH, Kasper’s radio adventure began at the age of 17 when he got an internship at the legendary WHOT in Youngstown. After less than 6 months, Kasper was invited by Program Director Tom Pappas to hit the airwaves on the FM side. He started with weekend overnights, then onto weekend nights, and then fulltime Overnights/Assistant Music Director; Kasper also got the call to do part-time work at another legendary Top 40 radio station, WBZZ/B94 in Pittsburgh.
From there it was time to move up the “radio ladder” with stops at WRTS/Star 104 in Erie, PA and WXLK/K92 in Roanoke, VA.
The next move would prove to be a defining one for Kasper's radio career. Clear Channel Communications (now iHeartMedia) had just signed on a new Top 40 radio station in Cleveland, OH - a market that had been without a Pop music station for over a year until the company flipped Religious-formatted WZLE to WAKS as "KISS 104.9." In March of 2000, Kasper was hired by Program Director Dan Mason to be the station's first ever Night show host/Music Director. In July 2001, following ratings that were exceptionally high for such a signal-challenged station, KISS made the move to a full-market signal and became "96-5 KISS FM." Kasper would end up winning the 2003 A.I.R. Award for "Best Cleveland Night Show", jockconference.com's first ever "Slammer Of The Year" award, and was nominated for "Top 40 Assistant Program Director/Music Director of the Year" at the 2003 Radio Music Awards.
After 4 years at WAKS, consistent #1/#2 showings in the ratings, (and moving from nights to afternoons) the legendary WIOQ/Q102 came calling and Kasper made the move to Philly as Q's Afternoon Drive host.
In September of 2005, Kasper made the decision to return to WAKS and re-assume duties as Assistant Program Director/Music Director/Afternoon host. In 2007 he was nominated for R&R Magazine's "Music Director of the Year", and was named one of "Cleveland's Most Interesting People On Twitter" in 2010 by MetroMix.com.
After a successful second run in Cleveland, Kasper is now based at iHeartMedia sister station WRVQ/Q94 in Richmond, VA where he's the Assistant Program Director/Music Director/Afternoon Host and Digital Journalist for the cluster's websites.
Alongside his duties at iHeartMedia, Kasper has been heard on a number of station across the country since 2001 - WKSC/KISS 103.5 Chicago (weekends), WDCG/G-105 Raleigh (nights), WKKF/102-3 KISS FM Albany (mornings), KHKS/106.1 KISS FM Dallas (weekends), WHYI/Y100 Miami (weekends) and WMOV/Movin 107.7 (afternoons) to name a few. Currently, his show can also be heard on WKDD/98-1 KDD Akron (afternoons), WHKF/99.3 KISS FMHarrisburg and WMTX/Mix 100.7 Tampa.
Kasper, his wife Krissy and their three daughters reside in the RVA suburbs.
